I grew up in Mound, Minnesota on Lake Minnetonka.  I lived with a foster family all my life, with a mom who influenced my life immensely & taught me to crochet & embroider. I have always loved to do needlework. As a child and well into my adulthood I did mostly knitting, crocheting and some tatting.

After I had a stroke in 1990 that affected my left side I found that handling the needles and hooks was much too awkward and slow. I had tried some cross stitch and hardanger so I found that by using a hoop I would be able to continue doing needlework in the form of embroidery. The designing started when I made a cross stitch of my foster mother and it seemed to need more than just a frame so I designed the mat that is with it. (The picture and mat is shown on my home page.) The mat was displayed in Better Homes & Garden's Cross Stitch & Needlework magazine.

I was a stay at home mom.  I have 5 grown children, 14 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.
